The huge glaring hole in this chart...the breeding grounds. Over the past few decades, there have been a few specialty retailers that have churned out staff to become major, major influencers of the OI. The top breeders of influencers: A16, Marmot (retail), Midwest Mountaineering, and Neptunes. Check around and I'd bet that those 4 stores/mini-chains appear on more resumes of significant players than all the others combined. Of course there are other breeders (HTO, EMS, REI, etc) but these specialty shops are the ones are you can't help tripping over at OR.
