Not surprising given the attitude towards cyclists in Mooresville and S(hell)by... It does surprise me that the folks in Hickory would vote for this guy - its a relatively bike-friendly town.

I believe the comedian John Reep calls his hometown of Hickory, "Red-Neck-ory" and "Trailer-Park-ory"... the Senator isn't helping out too much with the reputation.

It's a typical narrow bandwidth view of the world that the "R"s have...it just seems so silly to them that something so simple could aid in the critical mass we are facing in regards to fuel consumption.
